The Veolia North Thames Trust was created in 2013, following the merger of the three original Trusts, (Veolia Havering Riverside Trust, Veolia Pitsea Marshes Trust and the Veolia Mardyke Trust).
Most of our Trustees are local representatives of corporate bodies. These individuals come from a variety of backgrounds, but they all have a genuine interest in the area. Trustees review requests for project funding from the local community and oversee the general running of the Trust. They are currently:
Castle Point Borough Council – Cllr Ray Howard
Essex Wildlife Trust – Stewart Goshawk
Independent Trustee – Barrie Lawrence / Charlie Curtis (Thurrock)
Independent Trustee – Mike Warner (Havering)
London Borough of Havering – Cllr Robert Benham
Natural England – Neil Fuller
Port of London Authority – Alistair Gale
Thurrock Council – Cllr P Tolson
Veolia UK – Doug Benjafield
Veolia UK – Keith McGurk
The Landfill Communities Fund, ENTRUST and ADEB
The Landfill Communities Fund (LCF) is regulated by ENTRUST. All projects have to be registered with ENTRUST before you start your project. ENTRUST verifies that the projects we fund are making ongoing, effective and beneficial contributions to the local environment and the local community.
The Trust is also a member of the Association of Distributive and Environmental Bodies (ADEB), which supports and promotes the LCF nationally, including contacts with ENTRUST and the Government.
